Beacon Fell - Bitter and Twisted's Grand Day Out
Well, I went on holiday immediately after this r*n, so it’s now fading into the hinterland of my memory. As far as I remember, some great things about it were:
- Scorching hot sunshine.
- Nice cooling breezes.
- Great variety of terrain, from dappled woodland shade and babbling streams to hilltop views.
- Fantastic variety of wildflowers including bluebells, wild garlic and celandine.
- Well marked trail.
- Fine selection of seasoned hashers, all in tip-top condition!
One negative aspect was:
Getting a down-down for a spurious reason that I’ve now forgotten!
It was a lovely setting for a great r*n, sorry I can’t remember the finer details now!
