Silverdale - A Silverdale Round

This was a r*n which delivered in abundance!

Views, Hills, Woodland, The Bay and probably the world record for open checks!

It had it all (except perhaps some shiggy…..).

It also featured 5 Hares which I think is a record (AI suggests that the collective name for multiple hares is a drove or husk).

Starting off from the Silverdale Hotel, the pack headed up to Stankelt Rd before turning right and picking up the path down to Woodwell, before heading past the Wolfhouse and down to Jack Scout.

At Jack Scout the progress of the Rambos was slowed down by the record number of checks in a short space of time, before we headed down to the shore at Jenny Brown’s Point. From there it was along the shore to the Limekiln and then back inland via Fleagarth Wood, before heading over to Lambert’s Meadow via Silverdale Green. After Lambert’s Meadow the FRB’s met the challenge to run up the short climb back to The Row and the Beer stop.

At the Beer stop the Rambos were greeted by the sight of the smiling Knitting Circle enjoying the spring sunshine and looking very smug as they’d been sitting there for some time.

From the Beer stop we headed over to Waterslack and then back through Eaves Wood, resisting the urge to pop into The Woodies and the over to The Cove where we were greeted with a Hash View stop over the Bay, before the short r*n over The Lots back to the Silverdale Hotel.

A great, well-marked route from the husk of hares. In fact, the r*n was so well marked that when I retraced some of the run 4 weeks later, many of the markings were still there!
