Bolton-le-Sands

When most sane people would be sat in their slippers around a warm glowing fire in the comfort of their own home, several non-sane hashers were waiting to start R*n no' 286 in very wet, very windy cra**y weather outside the Far Pavilion.

We were informed by Master Baker that Thunderdick was live-haring the r*n, but at 7, the hare popped up and live hared from the knitting circle (poor Upper Skirt couldn't run due to an injury but decided a power walk before her Indian experience was in order)!

We set off in the driving wind and rain with Lurch and I doing the checks. We ran through the streets of B-L-S with brightly decorated houses providing plenty of ooh-aah moments (mainly for me - not Lurch who pretended he hadn't noticed ....bah humbug)! When we hit the beach, Lurch chose the dark path onto the shore, however fortunately the hare had been kind and we kept to the tarmac back up to the A6. Across to the canal (via the bus stop where Morticia decided a bus might be in order) and then off road alongside the canal (past the ducks) back into the centre of the village. The hare caught up with us and declared he had run out of flour at this point previously so we needed to turn right and return to the On Inn.

Bitter was delighted it was a short-un (no change there then) and after a quick change into dry clothing we hit the On-Inn for a well deserved curry, with Bedside Manner joining us after a busy day treating Man-Flu victims.

It was a good r*n with good company and my 100th r*n under my belt (hence the ceremony with the salt as MB had left my tankard at home!

On On and Merry Xmas to all hashers!

    Master Baker Stain removal guide:

When one finds a curry stain on a garment - in my case a white sleeve - the best way to treat it is to pre-soak the affected area with a commercially available stain removing agent such as v*nish. Wash in a normal wash cycle (there's no need to wash it seperately). After washing - inspect the area to check the stain has gone. If it is still visible, don't dry the garment, soak & wash again. After two washes, the stain had gone. Dry as usual

    Good luck!
