This was our 1st visit. We also visited on...
A small bunch of happy hashers met at the Brookside Inn in Windermere on this beautiful sunny morning. We started by welcoming a young virgin, Josie, neice of Furcoat, who was elected to carry Dickhead. No more Cum was chosen as musician for the day, because according to our GM , Forever Blowing, she has never seen No More Cum with the horn! As it turned out, the run progressed without anyone hearing it, even some tourists who asked him to play a tune were sadly disappointed!
This run will always be remembered, especially by me, as the 'getting lost run'. Last time we did it, on a full moon, we all got lost, and this time I quickly changed from being a FRB to hopelessly lost. There I was, a lost soul, straining my ears for the sound of 'On On' or the welcoming delights of the horn, but it wasn't to be, hence the down downs that followed;
Another feature of this run was dog poo:
In honour of Highway's retirement from work he had arranged a display of the Red Arrows who flew over Windermere as we ran (How lucky was that!).
We would have sung some hash songs but RA Antiseptic forgot the song sheets, but did it matter after ten minutes? Not at all, Mags! We ended with a drink at the Brookside to celebrate Highway's retirement and the fact that he's going to hare all future runs now that he has the time. (Joke, Highway!)
